Besides discovering the beautiness and history of this amazing village, there are many things to do in Santiago de Compostela.
Enjoying your favorite sport, walking close to nature, go to the beach, rent a canoe or a sailing ship, shopping throughout the city, visiting events or tasting delicious food and wine from the capital of Galicia are some of many activities and other things you can do during your holidays in Santiago.
Around the city there are two golf fields, one in Lavacolla and the other on in Padrón. River Tambre offers you a beautiful picnic and family area in Chaian. It is perfect to spend on day with your childrens and friends. It is about 15 minutes by car from city center. In Tapia there is a river beach, and a bar too, where it is possible to bad in the river, walking, having some snacks and drinks or to practice free and outdoors activities. Granxa do Xesto is a park in the outskirts of Santiago, 40 minutes walking, close to Monte Pedroso, where children and adults can have a very nice time. There is as well a restaurant with terrace and a bar, toilets and playground for the youngest. The views of Compostela and its huge Cathedral from this point are really good.
It is important to be well informed about what to do in Santiago de Compostela. Here we show you a list with suggestions and alternatives you may like. When you decide which one you want to do, please, do not forget to write down or print time, date, price, conditions and details of your purchased service.
Santiago de Compostela is a quite small city. Using public transport from A to B it is not complicated, although it is important to check frecuencies, stops and departing times. If you are going to use your private car, or you rent a car, note that you have to add to your traveling time parking time, which sometimes it is not as easy as we would like in this city. If you do not know the area you will go to, check the route, for example in Google Maps, before getting into the car. We highly recommend, if it is a “short” distance, to go by foot. It is the best way to reach your destination and enjoying this wonderful town. The cheaper as well.
