The last person buried in this mausoleum is the politician, writer and draftsman Afonso Daniel Rodríguez Castelao, who rests there since 1984.
The Panteón de Galegos Ilustres, in english Pantheon of Distinguished Galicians, is in the left lateral chapel of the church of the monastery of Santo Domingo de Bonaval, which welcomes as well the Museum of Galician People, in the city of Santiago de Compostela, Galicia, Spain. It was set up by people's decision in order to welcome the mortal remains of several galician important figures of great relevance, as writers such Rosalía de Castro, Alfredo Brañas, Ramón Cabanillas, or the intellectual and cartographer Domingo Fontán, the sculpture Francisco Asorey, etc.
