A green area where it is possible to enjoy probably the best views of Santiago de Compostela and its Cathedral.

The lower side of Park of Bonaval belonged for many years to the land of Bonaval's convent, where the monks grew their products. The higher side was land of the old cemetery of the town which was beyond the walls. Today it is part of the city and it has been transformed in a park. The architect Álvaro Siza and the landscape designer Isabel Aguirre designed the current appearance of the park, a risky bet trying to integrate the empty niches, lawn and water distribution.
From the highest area of the park it is possible to see a skyline of the towers of Santiago de Compostela. All the church's towers compete with the Cathedral. Besides the towers, the chimneys are as well interesting because its size was a symbol of the owner's economic power. Almost all the big chimneys we can see from the park belong to religious houses.
