Through the discovery of the Apostle?s grave in 813 was founded the city Santiago de Compostela, becoming one of the most important pilgrim?s centre around the world.

The French Path
The most different reasons are argued for a trip to Santiago on St. James way ( camino francés). The belief in salvation and the wonders on the way to Compostela are no more the only intention of the travellers. The quest of self-knowledge, one belief, the culture or the stimulus to go to the End of the World (Finisterrae) on foot are nowadays reasons to live this common experience with other men, leaving behind a long way of pilgrimage. A very old tradition that goes back in time, to our ancient relatives, who were on this way, before us, with all its wisdom, believes, ideas and imagination.

Although there are several ways to the spanish border from Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Holland, there is only one main road in Spain to Santiago de Compostela: the CAMINO FRANCÉS.
Only the first stretch is divided into the way through Aragon and the way through Navarra, to find each other again in Navarra, where the CAMINO FRANCÉS starts, crossing this last region, La Rioja, Castile, León and Galicia to reach finally Santiago.
Besides there is the oldest way, but not really busy, Asturien path, the CAMINO DEL NORTE, that goes to Santiago along the Bay of Biscay through the Basque Country, Cantabria, Asturias and Galicia.
